Chapter II · The crew

The Phoenixes

Five people, one battered truck, and a name that's a promise: from the ashes, up. These are the dossiers we're allowed to publish.

Hawke
Guildmaster · The Hero

Hawke

The public face of the Phoenixes and a blue-collar pragmatist shaped by loss. He can negotiate with a city council in the morning and fix a failing pump motor in the afternoon. Not much of a talker — but the dry dad humor shows up exactly when a crew needs it. On his belt hangs a patched teddy bear. Nobody asks; everybody knows.

Hard-working Natural leader Sad, but hopeful
My dad used to say "Work ennobles man." — the most precious advice he's ever given me.
Ben Guo
Chief mechanic

Ben Guo

Hawke's right hand and the backbone of the crew. A master machinist in his sixties who teaches with his hands, not his mouth. His battered notebook holds diagrams and two-line aphorisms: "Metal remembers heat."

We honor the ruins of past by making new things that last, friend.
Leo Montez
Meteorologist

Leo Montez

Warm, cocky, and dangerously smart — a people-first scientist whose micro-climate forecasts keep whole neighborhoods standing. Big family, bigger heart, sharpest tongue on the crew.

Want to see something cool, amigo? Watch me drink sal-limón with just one hand!
Nix
Comms lead

Nix

Fast, funny, brilliant with radios. She turns ruined sites into treasure maps and narrates them in rapid-fire quips. The only person alive who can reliably make Hawke grin.

Bitchin'! With this new rig, I could reach aliens on the off chance they show up near this dumpster-fire of a planet.
Rhea Moss Okoro
Security chief

Rhea Moss Okoro

Strong, mysterious, pragmatic — the Phoenixes' protector. Feared by threats, trusted by the frightened. Reads danger the way Leo reads weather. Loves poetry, though you didn't hear that from us.

This world doesn't forgive weakness. Learn its rules the easy way or the hard way, but learn them, or they'll learn you…
